Revenue-grade meter (RGM) requirements depend on your state market, system size, and contract type. Many systems require an RGM, but there are limited exceptions.

Important Exceptions

Pennsylvania: Systems interconnected before 5/18/2017 may use estimated production and are considered grandfathered

Delaware Procurement Program: All systems must report using a revenue-grade meter

Sol Upfront Contracts: All systems must have remote monitoring, regardless of system size

Systems located in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia are registered by default to participate in the Pennsylvania market

Systems located in Virginia are currently required to have a revenue-grade meter to participate in the Virginia SREC market
