Energy production usually needs to be reported
Since SRECs are based on solar energy production, system owners often have to report their energy production to earn SRECs. Self-reporting is just one way to report energy production. Energy production can be reported one of three ways:
- Estimates
- Remote monitoring
- Self-reporting (submitting meter readings yourself)
Customers who are not set up for estimated production and have not granted remote monitoring access to Sol Systems must submit meter readings each month to receive SREC payments.
Determine if you're a self-reporter
If you received an email from us asking you for a meter reading, you're currently set up as a self-reporter. To check how you're set up to report, log in to the Sol Systems Dashboard and check the Generation column. If you have a green "Add Meter Reading" button, you're currently set up to self-report meter readings.
If you're set up to add meter readings yourself, you'll need to do so each month on the Sol Systems Dashboard. Here are step-by-step directions to self-report your meter readings each month.
