SREC Factors
SREC factors apply to systems in the Massachusetts SREC I and SREC II programs. SREC Factors determine the rate at which SRECs are awarded. Systems that produce an SREC for every 1,000kWh (or 1 MWh) have an SREC factor of 1. The vast majority of residential systems have an SREC factor of 1.
Systems with an SREC Factor of 0.8
Massachusetts systems that came online between January 8th, 2018 and November 26th, 2018 20% were given a lower SREC factor. Residential systems received an SREC factor of 0.8, meaning they produce an SREC for every 1,250 kWh--not 1,000.
