Check If Your System Has a Dedicated Meter
If you have a dedicated meter, you should take your meter reading from it. Log in to the Sol Dashboard and click "View" on your system.
From the System Details page, check if there is an expandable box for "Dedicated Meter(s)." If not, report from your revenue grade inverter.
If you do have a "Dedicated Meter(s)" box, expand it to find the manufacturer and model of the device.
Find Your System's Dedicated Meter
Look for a device installed on your system's property with a manufacturer and model that matches what's listed on the Sol Dashboard. If your system is residential, the meter is likely on the side of your house or in the basement.
Your dedicated meter is not to be confused with your net meter provided by your electric utility. (If the meter has your utility's name on it, it's likely your net meter.)
Most dedicated meters look like the ones below, but you can also image search your device's manufacturer and model to see exactly what it looks like.
Read the Meter
Most meters will display just one number, which should be in megawatt-hours (MWh) or kilowatt-hours (kWh). If your meter shows multiple, look for a number with the word "total" and either "MWh" or "kWh".
Submit your reading
Now that you have your meter reading, you're ready to submit it on the Sol Systems Dashboard. Here's how.
No Dedicated Meter? No Problem
If you don't have a dedicated meter, expand the "Inverter(s)" box to reveal its manufacturer and model.
If you have remote monitoring with your meter's manufacturer, you may be able to find your meter reading online.
Find Your System's Inverter
Look for a device installed at your system's property with the manufacturer and model of your dedicated meter. You can also image search the manufacturer and model to find exactly what it should look like.
Read the Inverter
Inverters often cycle through multiple numbers. Look for total energy production, which should be in megawatt-hours (MWh) or kilowatt-hours (kWh). The inverter screen will likely "total" and either "MWh" or "kWh" next to the meter reading.
