Sol Profit Share pays a fixed rate per SREC, plus additional profit when SREC prices rise
Sol Profit Share customers are paid a guaranteed, fixed price per SREC plus additional profit when SREC market prices rise above a set threshold. Even if market prices fall, the customer still receives the fixed price per SREC.
The fixed price per SREC, the threshold price, and the percentage of profit share vary from market to market and from system to system. You can find your rates in your contract or by contacting Sol Systems. The fixed price is unaffected by changes in the market, so customers will always receive at least the fixed price per SREC.
Sol Profit Share pricing examples
New Jersey: ($140 + 50% profit share above $140) per SREC. If SREC market price is $180, then...
- Customer fixed price: $140 per SREC
- Strike price: $140
- Profit share: $40 x 0.50 = $20
- Total payment to customer: $140 + $20 = $160 per SREC
Pennsylvania: ($10 + 50% profit share above $15) per SREC. If SREC market price is $30, then...
- Customer fixed price: $10 per SREC
- Strike price: $15
- Profit share: $30 (market price) - $15 (strike price) = $15 (shared profit) x 0.50 = $7.50
- Total payment to customer: $10 + $7.50 = $17.50 per SREC
Payments are issued quarterly
Sol Profit Share payments are issued on a quarterly basis. Since a portion of Sol Profit Share is a fixed price per SREC, and some solar energy systems do not produce an SREC each quarter, some customers may not receive payment in all quarterly payment cycles.
