# Step 7: When and How You Get Paid

## Information on payment cadence and timeline

### Overview

- SRECs are minted after each month of generation
- Sol Systems sells SRECs throughout the month
- Payments are issued based on your contract type and payment method. We issue payment on the **last business day of the month**
- Please review our [**payment schedule**](https://help.srecs.solsystems.com/srec-payment-schedule?hsLang=en-us) for when we pay out each month (note that you must have a sold credit)

### Key reminders

- Direct deposit = faster payment
- Check payments are issued annually
- Not every month results in an SREC or payment
