What Is Remote Monitoring?

Remote monitoring (RM) is an online system that automatically tracks your solar energy production and can report it to Sol Systems for SREC generation—eliminating the need for manual monthly reporting.

How Remote Monitoring Works

Remote monitoring platforms:

  • Measure and record your system’s energy production

  • Provide online access to production data

  • May generate maintenance alerts

  • Can automatically report production for SREC issuance

Remote monitoring is an alternative to manual self-reporting.

Do Most Systems Have Remote Monitoring?

Yes. Most solar systems installed in 2018 or later include remote monitoring at no additional cost.

Common remote monitoring platforms include:

  • Enphase Enlighten

  • SolarEdge

  • SMA Sunny Portal

How to Set Up Remote Monitoring for SRECs

  1. Contact your solar installer to confirm whether your system has remote monitoring and which platform it uses

  2. Follow the setup instructions for your specific monitoring platform

  3. Contact Sol Systems to confirm monitoring has been verified

Once verified, you will no longer need to manually submit production each month.
