Why does my account show higher generation but no new SRECs?
If your account shows increased energy generation but no new SRECs, don’t worry—this is usually due to normal processing timelines.
How SREC creation works
SRECs are not created instantly when you submit your generation. Instead, they are issued by GATS (Generation Attribute Tracking System) after your production data is processed.
- GATS typically mints (creates) SRECs about 2 weeks after generation is submitted
- During this processing period, your generation total will update, but your SREC balance will not yet reflect the new credits
Example
- You submit your June generation on July 1
- GATS processes the data over the next couple of weeks
- Your new SRECs will typically appear on or around July 14
What this means for your account
It’s completely normal to see:
- Higher total generation, but
- No immediate increase in SRECs
This simply means your generation has been recorded, but GATS has not finished processing it yet
